Despite that, already in 1936, Dane Rudhyar had spoken of the existence of this small planet, but Chiron was not discovered until 1977 by astronomer Charles Kowal. Its eccentricity (greater than that of Pluto), its inclination with respect to the ecliptic and its small size mean that today, it is difficult to determine what effects Chiron can produce in a horoscope.
