Does the complexity of organic life imply some kind of rational design? / Guía de perplejos o descarriados se compone de los pequeños opúsculos que Rabí Moisés ben Maimon -Maimonides-, uno de los más destacados filósofos judíos (1135-1204), dirigió a su discípulo Ibn Aknin para ayudarle a resolver las dudas que este albergaba sobre la religión y la vida del espíritu. El mensaje de su obra se centra en la búsqueda de la verdad y en la exaltación de valores como la justicia y la razón, e intenta aclarar ciertas metáforas utilizadas por los profetas y que no deben interpretarse literalmente, pues podría dar lugar a descarriamientos y confusión, de ahí el titulo de Guía de Descarriados.
