Querer como las locas

This work is signed by Jesús Pascual, one of the most powerful young voices of the Spanish queer scene, and constitutes a rich and innovative reflection on the queer passions hidden in the Andalusian copla during Franco's regime. The discourse is articulated around the figure of Antonio, "la Palomita", whose photographs and experiences are the backbone of the book. Antonio's intimacy is linked to Rafael de León's coplas through the lucid analysis of the author, who offers us a warm and very necessary look at passion, the expression of desire and sexual dissidence during the dictatorship. An absolutely necessary and current book, which is at the same time a dialogue between generations and a recognition of the courageous and anonymous figures who kept the queer impulse alive in Spain.
