Imogen Scott may be hopelessly straight, but at least she has the title of Best Ally in the Universe in her pocket. She’s never missed a Pride Alliance meeting; she knows more about opinions about queer media on the internet than her own queer little sister; she even has two queer best friends. On one hand, there’s Gretchen, her high school classmate, who helps keep her prejudices in check. And then there’s Lili, who’s recently out of the closet, and also recently moved to college, where she’s living her best life with her new group of queer friends. Imogen is thrilled for Lili, as any ally would be. And now that she’s finally going to visit Lili on campus, she’s going to pull out all the ally gear she can muster. Imogen plans to give Lili all the support she needs. Even if it means bending reality a little. Like when Lili drops a little queer bombshell: She's told all of her queer college friends that she and Imogen were dating. And none of them know that Imogen is 100% straight—not even Lili's best friend, Tessa. And of course, the more time Imogen spends with the freckle-faced, chaotic girl, Tessa, the more she wonders if her reality was really as clear-cut as she thought.
