Asmodeo, a writer who has won a single literary prize and subsists by teaching writing courses, is attracted to Julia, one of his students. Since he is married, he can only approach her with the strategy of a joint publication. Julia is a friend of Kakia, who believes she is the reincarnation of Karen Blixen, the author of 'Memories of Africa'. Kakia will not stand to be displaced when she notices Asmodeo's approach to Julia, as she considers Asmodeo a key player in achieving literary fame. 'No Manuscripts Accepted' provides a satirical and funny look at the world of writing and the search for recognition in the amateur literary world, where writing courses have become a growing trend. Most of the characters, grotesque, consider themselves demigods, endowed with a limitless talent to be discovered. Their interest in writing is not at all literary, but rather that of publication and the fame that awaits them. Narrated in a humorous tone and with nods to numerous classic and contemporary writers that the reader will discover as he goes along -Shakespeare, Cortázar, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Delibes, Millás...-, this novel sketches a truthful portrait of the literary circles and workshops that proliferate so much nowadays.
