Seville, 1587. In a bustling city where the gold of the Americas flows and danger lurks at every corner, two mysterious Englishmen arrive with a clear mission: to gather intelligence on Spanish defenses and forge local alliances to facilitate an attack on the empire. Amidst this tense atmosphere, Fernando de Medina, a humanist and keen investigator, and Francisco Pacheco, the royal chaplain and man of letters, are tasked with uncovering the true intentions of these foreigners. They soon discover that the Englishmen are not acting alone, but are part of a vast network of conspirators stretching from the alleys of Seville to the court of Philip II, threatening the nation's security. With the looming threat of the Spanish Armada, Medina and Pacheco must infiltrate secret meetings, decode encrypted messages, and face unexpected betrayals.
