Can a family be built from lies? When Faye Baker discovers a child's skull behind the walls of her new home, the police assign the investigation to Inspector Lottie Parker. The house belongs to the family of Jeff, Faye's boyfriend, but the young man is reluctant to cooperate, and Lottie wonders what he is hiding. The next day, the inspector discovers that Faye has disappeared, and shortly after they find her lifeless body in the trunk of her car. However, Jeff, the prime suspect, has a solid alibi. As if that were not enough, that same week some children found human bones related to the case on the train tracks. The hunt for Faye's killer has just begun and the clock is ticking against Lottie.
