Salento, 1959. Lorenzo and Agnese have lost everything. They realize it when their father, with the sad eyes that have followed him all his life, announces that he has sold the family soap factory — a legacy he has always experienced as a burden. For Lorenzo and Agnese, on the other hand, that factory, which their grandfather built from nothing and which smells of talcum powder, flowers, and vegetable oils, was the security of a peaceful present and the promise of a future to be built together, united. That is why the idea of staying on as mere workers under a new and arrogant owner is devastating. Lorenzo, proud and impulsive, storms out, slamming the door with a heart full of anger and a single goal: to get the money needed to reclaim what is rightfully his. But Agnese does not follow him. As determined when it comes to making soap as she is insecure when facing the outside world, she declares, “I’m staying where my home is.” Thus opens a deep, seemingly irreparable rift between brother and sister, pushing them down opposite and unpredictable paths. Because Lorenzo and Agnese want the same thing — at least until love places them once again at a crossroads. Each will make a choice and draw a different tomorrow... Will that tomorrow be free of regrets for them both?
