xCasona was a Spanish playwright and master of the Generation of '27. His work is characterized by the conflict between reality and fantasy, the escape to a better poetic world, the search for happiness, the redemptive power of love, the reality of dreams... The Lady of the Dawn is a legendary poem framed in a fable-like world rooted in the Romantic tradition. The legendary imagery is merely the wrapping of a work that within reflects a reality: the stigmas that tradition inflicted on women due to their social status in contemporary Spain.
