HISTORIA DE ISRAEL

This history of Israel transcends the historical essay, playing with memory to show us a new perspective on the Jewish world across the globe, exploring its culture and history against the backdrop of the political and military events of the last century. Gerardo Stuczynski recounts the vicissitudes of the creation of the State of Israel, antisemitism and anti-Judaism in their various forms, the horrific Holocaust — the most representative symbol of the persecution suffered by the Jewish people, against whom the entire West turned its back — and the War of Independence or Liberation — which meant emancipation for Israel and the creation of a new national identity for the Arabs: Palestine — as the starting point of the Arab-Israeli conflict, with terrible consequences for the civilian population, trapped in a perpetual conflict. Memory and history come together in this work, where we follow the journey through space and — more importantly — identity of the family of Anael, a Cuban and Jewish university professor, whose members have been first-hand witnesses to the greatest achievements and affronts suffered by the people of Israel throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.
