In the midst of a marital crisis, Clara Montsalvatges sends an email to her siblings, Álvaro and Amanda, to inform them that she is divorcing Joan-Marc. Her personal problems lead her to question what she wants to do with her life and what others think of her. On this journey she must come to terms with the moral legacy of her grandfather Gabriel, the family patriarch, a man hardened by the Civil War who survived the devastation of Franco's regime, allowing Clara and her siblings to be born.
