This is a mutant novel, halfway between essay, autobiography, apocryphal biography, and philosophical treatise; a text punctuated by notes that expand it, a text that questions how to live today, and how to write, amidst collapse. It is also an elegy for a world crumbling, the physical world, but also the symbolic and the moral. And it is an ambitious, desperate, necessary attempt to restore meaning to it, through imagination, artistic creation, and the mindfulness advocated by Simone Weil. The narrator must travel to Rosario, Argentina, to sort through his grandfather's belongings. On the way, he suffers an incident that will radically change his relationship with the world.
