xThis anthology is not a theory of invective nor a method for the practice of insult, but rather an example of the exercise of what we could call the art of insult in the pen of one of the most accomplished masters: Arthur Schopenhauer. In this selection, not only insults themselves have been collected, but also a wide selection of the numerous criticisms, censures, disapprovals, reprimands, counterclaims, etc., that can be found in the work of the German thinker. Schopenhauer's well-known bad character led him to express them with particular vehemence, in an accurate, sparkling formulation with malicious intelligence.
