As a very young child, Mario Obrero, from a Spanish-speaking family, asked his parents to buy him a Galician-Spanish dictionary so he could understand the language of the place where they went on holiday. Later, he immersed himself in Catalan - in its Valencian form - after some stays in Alicante. And so began an uninterrupted story of love and knowledge of Basque, Asturian, Aragonese... The author, who already demonstrated an early sensitivity for language in his first collections of poems, demonstrates in this very particular book his passion for languages: for etymology, their interrelations and the political meaning of their use in daily life, science and art.
