Henry Marsh (Oxford, 1950) cursó Ciencias Políticas, Filosofía y Economía en la Universidad de Oxford, antes de estudiar Medicina en el Royal Free Hospital de Londres. Ingresó en el Colegio Real de Cirujanos en 1984, y ejerció durante más de treinta años de especialista en neurocirugía en el Atkinson Morley del St. George's Hospital de Londres hasta su jubilación en 2015. Su primer libro, Ante todo no hagas daño, que ha sido un bestseller internacional, ganó el Premio Pen Ackerley y el Premios South Bank Sky for Literature y se tradujo a más de veinte idiomas. Además, el doctor Marsh ha protagonizado dos documentales: Your Life in Their Hands , ganador del Premio Royal Television Society Gold Medal, y The Cirujano inglés, que obtuvo un Emmy— y fue nombrado Comendador de la Orden del Imperio Británico en 2010. Confesiones, su segundo libro, ha sido finalista del Premio del Círculo Nacional de Críticos de Libros (2017) en el apartado de biografías.
