Este libro no es mi primera incursión en la pluma de Christine Feehan , puesto que hace tiempo que leí sus novelas UF o Urban Fantasy con personajes oscuros y un mundo fantástico a su alrededor que me cautivó, pero la perdió la pista.

Cuando super que Asesinato en el Lago Sunrise se iba a público quería volver a leerla, ya que mi última lectura con ella me decepcionó y me quería quitar esa espina.

Tuve una sensación extraña y peculiar leyendo esta novela y es que en algunos momentos pensé que esta historia estaba ligada más al mundo sobrenatural que al misterio o thriller y fue genial, ya que no dí nada por sentado y estuve durante toda la trama con un nudo en la garganta y pensando ¿habrá algún vampiro? ¿aparecerá alguien que nos dejará sin palabras?

Creo que esta novela coral aparte de ser un thriller con asesinatos de por medio, misterio y miedo trata más sobre la psique humana, sobre el silencio, sobre los pasados ​​que acechan a cada personaje de una manera u otra, pero sobre todo trata sobre el confiar en ti misma y crecerte ante la adversidad.

Una novela con bastantes personajes y que al principio me costó introducirme en ella, pero con tantos nombres y esa presentación tan atropellada que se hace del grupo de amigos/as de Stella es comprensible, pero Christine Feehan lo solventa de una manera elegante y original.

Creo que la autora quiere que conozcamos de un sólo vistazo, con una sola mirada a todo el grupo, pero luego uno por uno va mostrándonos su vida, su pasado y su verdadera cara.

Las descripciones del paisaje son asombrosas y cada vez que la autora nos cuenta algo de este pedazo de santuario y de lugar, como que sentía esos olores, veía esos colores, saboreaba todo lo que los protagonistas comen, etc.

El planteamiento es curioso y me ha parecido de lo más original, pero la autora en algunos instantes da algunas vueltas que me marearon, pero es que no entendía ¿qué es lo que quería mostrar al lector? o ¿por qué lo hacía?

Al final de la novela lo entendí, pero hizo que me desconectase de ella.

Christine Feehan os decía que da vueltas a algunos temas, a algunas preguntas, pero al final cuando todas las piezas cuadran sabrás ese motivo, pero descubrirás lo que hace el amor, el verdadero significado de confiar en alguien, tener amigos/as.

Asesinato en el Lago Sunrise me ha parecido una novela de corazones solitarios que se encuentran en el momento instante y en el lugar perfecto, pero también él siente que todo está contado de una manera especial, ya que la autora utiliza el arte de la fotografía para algunas cosas en particular y me gustó la sensación de que somos testigos tras esa cámara.

Pensaba que era una novela de alto voltaje, pero él adoraba que Christine Feehan utiliza los gestos, las miradas y los abrazos e incluso hasta hacer un chocolate caliente como forma de demostrar el amor.

Las historias de amor se cuecen a fuego lento y las conversaciones trascendentes sobre esos secretos que se esconden en el baúl de los recuerdos irán surgiendo, pero a paso lento.

Christine juega al ratón y al gato con el lector e irá confundiéndolo.

Aunque se ha centrado en la trama de Stella y lo que la ocurre es cierto que sentí que la vida de los demás se paraliza y tengo ganas de saber ¿cómo les fue la vida tras todo lo vivido en esos días? ¿algo ha cambiado?

Las relaciones paternofiliales y maternofiliales es otro de los temas que me gustaría contaros, ya que Christine lo ha tratado de manera distinta para cada personaje y me ha gustado cómo da un punto de vista o retrata una familia y otra.

Tiene gracia que ese lago se llame Sunrise, ya que la ambientación es magnifica y tiene un tono lúgubre, oscuro y para nada soleado, supongo que habrá querido hacer un juego en el que es un lago en el que todos son felices, pero hay algunos nubarrones...

He tardado varios días en leerla, pero es que necesitaba estar concentrada y asimilar todo lo que nos pudiese contar.

Muy recomendado para amantes de las novelas de asesinatos, con secretos del pasado y presente, con personajes enigmáticos y carismáticos de diversos lugares del mundo, etc.

Christine Feehan ha escrito una novela aterradora, nostálgica, para leerla con los 5 sentidos y muy original.
